The Quinceañera is a "coming of age" celebration for a 15 year old Hispanic female.  In this celebration the young girl makes an oath to the Blessed Virgin Mary to live a life of virtue through prayer, reception of the sacraments, and devotion to family and friends.  This celebration is not a sacrament; yet, it is designed to bring heightened awareness to the presence of Christ working in the young girl´s life.  La "quinceañera" es  la mayoría de edad para una joven de 15 años.  En esta celebracion, la joven hace un juramento a la Beata Virgen María para vivir una vida de la virtud por las oraciones, la recepción de los sacramentos, y la devoción a sus familias y amigos.  Esta celebración n o es un sacramento; sin embargo, esta diseñada para crear consciencia a la presencia de Cristo trabajando en la vida de la joven. 

Requirements / requisitos

The family needs to be registered in the parish and observe regular Sunday Mass attendance.  La familia debe enscribido en la Iglesia y asiste en la Misa

The girl needs to have received the Sacrament of Confirmation or is enrolled in Confirmation class at the parish or in a Catholic School.  La joven debe tener confirmación o en proceso a recibirla

She must attend the Quinceañera preparation class prior to the Quinceañera. Debe asistir en la clase de quinceañera.
