Our Lady of Guadalupe parish has three Sunday celebrations of the Eucharist: one vigil on Saturday at 5 PM and two Masses on Sunday at 9 AM and 12 noon Mass in Spanish. At this time we have four cantor/musician teams in English and two in Spanish. Other musicians from outside the parish assist when needed. If you would like to sing or play an instrument, please contact the Parish Office and speak to Fr. Eric Weldon. You can also speak to one of these people:

Liturgical music supports the liturgical action of the Church. "The singing of the Church comes ultimately out of love...The Holy Spirit is love and it is he who produces the singing. He is the Spirit of Christ, the Spirit who draws us into love for Christ and leads us to the Father." Liturgical Music is based on biblical faith, therefore, there is a clear dominance of the Word... ." The Word made flesh is Jesus and the words we sing are primarily biblical and liturgical. The words we sing are critical and more important than instrumental music, though singing does not exclude instrumentation. The Word of God and the paschal mystery of Jesus Christ inspire music through singing and instrumentation to have a firm grounding in God's love for mankind and his work of redemption. (with help from Benedict XVI The Spirit of the Liturgy.)
