Our Lady of Guadalupe Christ Renews His Parish Weekend is coming!

What is Christ Renews His Parish?

Christ Renews His Parish, or CRHP, is a weekend retreat designed to help renew our faith by bringing members of our community together in Christ. It is a respite from your busy schedule of personal, business, and family obligations that provides an opportunity for personal spiritual renewal. The weekend will also provide a unique opportunity to grow in your faith with fellow parishioners, as others share their spiritual journeys in an informal and relaxed environment of reflection, fellowship, and fun.

Who should attend?

Anyone 21 and older is welcome to attend a Christ Renews His Parish weekend. You do not need to be Catholic to attend. Separate weekends are offered for men and women.

When is the weekend?

* Men’s retreat:  8:00am Saturday - 4:00 Sun., Apr. 28 - 29

* Women’s retreat: 8:00am Saturday - 4:00 Sun., May 5 - 6

What should I expect?

The emphasis of the weekend is on small group participation and personal renewal. Everyone is welcome to share as much or as little as they would like. Accommodations are basic, but comfortable, with Our Lady of Guadalupe serving as your "home" for the weekend. There is no cost for the weekend and all meals are provided.

How do I register?

Pick up registration paper in the vestibule. Turn them in to Fr. Blick or to the rectory. Applications are accepted on a first come, first served basis. If the weekend reaches capacity, you will placed on a waitlist.

OLG/ST. Teresa Prayer Line

The prayer line is composed of volunteers.  Prayer requests come from family or friends,
from all sections of the conuntry and all religious denominations.  Prayer requests are
called to the coordinator, who then calls another name and so forth.  Our prayer line
often recives prayers of thanksgiving for those for whom we have prayed.  We share in
a sense of great wonder that the power of prayers can really create miracles of faith
and healing and be comforting to those who are grieving at a loss of a loved one.

  • The title of the new letter is “Missionary disciples, custodians of the common home: discernment in the light of the encyclical Laudato Si’,” a reference to the Pope’s second encyclical letter.

  • Capuchin Franciscan Father Raniero Cantalamessa has served as Preacher to the Papal Household since 1980. His March 16 sermon was entitled “Let every person be subject to the governing authorities” (Romans 13:1). The sermon had five parts: “the center thread that comes down,” “the obedience of Christ,” “obedience as grace: baptism,” “obedience as a duty: the imitation of Christ,” and “an obedience always open to all.”

  • FADA, introduced by Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT), is “a modest and important measure that protects the rights of faith-based organizations and people of all faiths and of no faith who believe that marriage is the union of one man and one woman,” said the chairmen of two US bishops’ committees.
